Les Quatre Chenes
Les Quatre Chenes is a very high quality property with plenty of space and all mod cons. We have a 4 star rating with the French tourist board and pride ourselves of offering a property which is really a “home from home” with everything you need to enjoy a really comfortable, relaxed holiday.
The kitchen has a gas cooker, microwave, washing machine, dishwasher, tumble dryer and fridge/freezer. The lounge has satellite TV, video, DVD, CD and radio. There is also a landline telephone for which you can buy cards in the local shop. (N.B. For long stay guests renting out of season the telephone is paid bi-monthly and there is a broadband connection available.)
The house has 3 bedrooms - one family room with a double and single bed, one twin room and one of triple room. There are 2 bathrooms, one on the ground floor with a corner bath, the other upstairs with a shower.
The swimming pool (10m x 5m) is private for your use only and you have a choice of 2 bar-B-que patios, one leading from the kitchen at the back of the house and the other in the main garden surrounded by some of the ancient trees which create a light, yet very shady, spot to eat on very hot summer days. Guests are also invited to make full use of the gardens and grounds of 16 acres. We have outdoor table tennis, football, badminton, boule, sandpit and swings.
Le Fleix village is just over 1km, a very pleasant walk, and has a small supermarket, post office, petrol station, 2 bakers, butcher, stationer, bar/restaurant and hair dresser.
Ste Foy La Grande, a charming old bastide town set on the River Dordogne with delightful town centre, is 7km and has a superb Saturday market, larger supermarkets and a multitude of other shops and restaurants.
Bergerac is 17 kms and is also an old bastide town set on the river Dordogne and also with a picturesque town centre surrounded by restaurants. There are many shops, boutiques and supermakets here too. The airport is just outside the town and is less than 20 minutes from our house.
